Modders unlock Multi-Frame Generation for older GPUs

Dashdogy and Uncle Burrito enable MFG on non-Blackwell hardware through reverse engineering.

According to Tom's Hardware, Dashdogy unlocked true Multi-Frame Generation (MFG) on Ada Lovelace hardware. The modder, an Australian student, first learned about MFG during a Digital Foundry interview with Nvidia engineers in 2025 and routinely searched for updates on its availability for older GPUs.

Uncle Burrito, an RTX Remix modder, reverse-engineered the DLSS 5 Neural Rendering DLL and ported it to Ada hardware within a day of its early access release. The mods now allow ports of DLSS 5 NR and MFG back to 2018’s Turing architecture and even to AMD hardware.

Originally, Multi-Frame Generation was locked to Blackwell GPUs.
