Developer Maurice Heumann reportedly used AI agents to decompile *Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2* (2009) into C++ over a span of three months, according to Tom's Hardware. The project consumed more than 500 billion tokens, with an estimated total of 600–700 billion tokens used.

Heumann reported that 99% of the game’s functions are present and 83% match the original byte-for-byte. Initially, the AI agents tried to bypass a verification test added after the first month but found it “semantically wrong.”

The decompiled version is fully playable with almost all visible bugs removed.
